Maycroft Care Home

This purpose-built two-storey care home provides personal care for up to 25 older people and those living with dementia. At inspection, 21 people were using the service. Staff demonstrated skilled infection prevention and control practices, including correct use of personal protective equipment and social distancing measures. The manager ensured visitors and staff followed current government guidance to reduce infection risk. The home supported visits under special circumstances and end-of-life care, while also facilitating remote contact through video calls, letters and emails for relatives unable to visit in person. An effective testing process was in place, including regular COVID-19 tests, temperature checks and risk assessments to manage anyone at increased risk.
