About Oaklands

Oaklands is a residential care home in Derby providing personal care and accommodation for people with mental health needs. Further details on the CQC's most recent findings are set out below.

Oaklands provides personal care and accommodation for eight people with mental health needs across two floors in an adapted building. During the inspection, all eight residents were present at the service.

Inspectors identified significant concerns with medicine management. The home lacked a clear audit trail documenting who made changes to residents' medicines, creating safety risks. Additionally, the registered manager could not access one person's risk assessment because it had not been properly saved according to the provider's policy, preventing full oversight of potential dangers.

Environmental standards also needed improvement, with greasy kitchen tiles noted as an example of areas requiring attention.
