About Oak Farm

Oak Farm is a nursing home in Norfolk providing care for people with acquired brain and spinal injuries, including both long-term residents and those undertaking periods of rehabilitation. Further detail on the CQC's findings is set out below.

Oak Farm provides accommodation, personal and nursing care for people with acquired brain and spinal injuries, some as permanent residents and others for periods of rehabilitation. It supported 28 people at the time of the assessment. The CQC's rating has fallen from Good to Requires Improvement, following breaches relating to safe medicines management and safeguarding, which placed people at potential risk of harm.

Feedback was mixed. Relatives were positive about the care given, and people praised support for their physical health, but some felt the culture was overly regimented and did not encourage independence, with limited activities on offer. Inspectors found examples of good practice alongside these shortfalls.
