Oak Cottage

Oak Cottage provides residential care for up to 25 older people living with dementia and mental health support needs, with 17 people currently using the service. Although people told inspectors they felt safe, there were concerns about safeguarding procedures. Incidents were identified and reported, but not always investigated or escalated to the local authority, with limited evidence of learning from these events.

Staffing arrangements did not always meet people's needs, with people reporting that staff were not deployed appropriately to support them when required. Medicine management processes also required attention to ensure consistent quality of care across the home.
