Nelson House is a residential care home for up to four people with a learning disability, supporting them to live more independently. The CQC rated the service Requires Improvement overall, having previously found it Good. Inspectors found the environment was not always safe, staff training gaps, and a breach around good governance, including safeguarding incidents not always reported and lessons not always learned from incidents.

On the positive side, medicines were managed safely, the home was clean, and staff felt supported. Families told inspectors their relatives were safe, well cared for and supported to enjoy activities such as swimming and shopping, describing staff as caring and kind.
