Milton House Nursing and Residential Home

Milton House provides nursing and residential care for up to 22 people, including older adults and younger people with physical disabilities or dementia. At inspection, 18 people were using the service. Staff safely managed medicines, though some recording improvements were identified and implemented during the visit. Care plans guided person-centred support reflecting individual preferences, and staff demonstrated caring approaches acting in people's best interests. The service supported maximum choice and control, using least restrictive practices where possible. People participated in varied activities including community events and local church groups.

Some records relating to capacity assessments and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards applications required clearer documentation. Recommendations were made to strengthen medicine recording processes and record-keeping in these areas.
