Mill View Care Home

Mill View Care Home is a large purpose-built residential care home providing personal and nursing care to up to 180 people across six 30-bedded units, though currently only five are operational. At inspection, 117 people were living at the home. Residents felt safe and spoke positively about the care and support they received. Staff had received safeguarding training and knew how to identify and report concerns. Accidents, incidents and falls were documented and reviewed to identify patterns and trends. Risk assessments provided guidance for staff on how to keep people safe and meet their needs.

Improvements were identified in medicines management, governance processes and record keeping. Staff were reported to be very busy and unable to regularly facilitate activities, which was one of their newer responsibilities. The home was clean with effective cleaning and infection control processes in place.
