Merrington Grange

Merrington Grange is a residential care home providing personal care to up to 10 people across three separate buildings, each with its own communal areas and kitchen facilities. The service supports autistic people and people living with learning disabilities. At inspection, eight people were using the service. Staff communicate with people in ways that meet their individual needs and support them to reach their goals, focusing on their strengths. People are supported to access the local community and engage in activities of their choice, with staff promoting maximum choice and control over their lives in the least restrictive way possible.

The home is being personalised for residents, with pictures displayed throughout to make the environment more stimulating. However, maintenance work is required to reduce the risk of infection spread and improve the overall appeal of the space. Policies and systems within the service support person-centred practice and respect for residents' independence and dignity.
