Merle Boddy House

Merle Boddy House provides personal and nursing care to people with learning disabilities or autistic spectrum disorder, supporting up to ten people. At inspection, eight people were using the service. The home is larger than current best practice guidance for residential care, though the building design fits into the residential area without identifying signs, intercoms, or cameras that would mark it as a care home. However, the service had not been developed in line with principles ensuring people can live full, meaningful lives with control, choice, and independence. People using the service did not receive planned and coordinated person-centred support that is appropriate and inclusive for their needs.
