About Mellish House Residential Home

Mellish House Residential Home is a residential care home in Suffolk, providing personal care for older people, including those living with dementia. Details from the most recent CQC inspection are set out below.

Mellish House provides accommodation and personal care for up to 48 people across two floors, with specialist dementia care on both floors. At inspection, 42 people were using the service.

The management team conducted various audits to assess care quality and safety, including daily building walk-arounds. However, inspectors identified shortfalls in fire safety, dignified handling of residents' belongings following death, medicines management, and access to personal care equipment that had not been caught by existing oversight systems. In response, the registered manager took action to update and improve systems to strengthen governance.
