Mayflower Court

Mayflower Court is a residential care home providing care and accommodation for older people, including those living with dementia. The CQC rated the service Requires Improvement overall, finding breaches relating to governance and safe care and treatment. Health and safety risks were not always properly assessed, and medicines and environmental risks were not consistently managed safely, with oversight systems failing to identify or act on these gaps.

Inspectors found more positive practice elsewhere: staff were well trained, worked closely with other agencies, and supported people to make their own choices. Families and residents described staff as kind and caring, with people feeling safe, listened to, and confident that complaints would be acted on.
