Marula Lodge

Marula Lodge accommodates up to 42 people, many living with dementia, neurological conditions, or physical disabilities, across two separate living units. Each unit has its own lounge and dining room. One unit had sufficient staffing levels, though the other unit initially lacked consistent staff presence in communal areas. Following the inspection, the registered manager confirmed an additional staff member was being rostered on. Staff understood risks associated with people's care and provided appropriate support, ensuring people received medicines when needed and were supported with nutrition and hydration, with health professional advice sought when concerns arose.

Staff demonstrated kindness, respect, and caring attitudes. People felt safe and residents reported feeling comfortable, while relatives confirmed their loved ones received safe care. The leadership team maintained a strong, visible person-centred culture and actively worked to help people live fulfilling lives.
