About Manton Heights Care Centre

Manton Heights Care Centre is a residential care home in Bedford. Details of the Care Quality Commission's most recent findings are set out below.

Manton Heights Care Centre provides accommodation and personal care for up to 91 people, including those living with dementia or brain injury, and includes a specialist Acquired Brain Injury unit. Inspectors previously found breaches around safe care, safeguarding, premises and governance, but these had been resolved by this assessment, though some safety systems still needed strengthening, particularly around incident reporting and risk monitoring.

The CQC found staff kind, person-centred and skilled, with strong leadership under a new manager who responded well to feedback. The ABI unit showed particularly good practice supporting rehabilitation. People felt safe and respected, though some experienced boredom when activity staff were unavailable.
