Manor Care Home - Middlewich

Manor Care Home in Middlewich provides personal care and accommodation for up to 48 adults, including people living with dementia. Following concerns raised about safe care, the CQC carried out an unannounced assessment and downgraded the rating from good to requires improvement.

Inspectors found breaches relating to safe care, dignity and respect, and governance. Care plans and risk assessments were not always up to date, medicines were not always managed safely, and fire safety concerns had gone unidentified. Staff recruitment, training and infection control were satisfactory, and families spoke warmly of caring staff, but oversight systems had failed to catch these problems, and the provider has been asked to act.
