Turnpike Court accommodates up to 53 people across two separate units with adapted facilities. At inspection, 47 people were receiving care. Staff were sometimes busy, which delayed responses to some care needs. The provider uses a dependency tool to assess staffing requirements, though inspectors recommended closer monitoring of how staff are deployed across the service to better match people's individual needs.

Inspectors found processes were in place to assess people under the Mental Capacity Act, but the service was not always working in line with this. The provider was recommended to review information held on people. While people gave mixed responses about opportunities to discuss feedback with management, they were positive about the care and support they received. Staff treated people with dignity and respect, demonstrating knowledge of individual support needs. Relatives felt their loved ones were safe and confident their needs would be met, and people described positive relationships with both staff and senior leaders.
