Lydbury Crescent Chance for a Break Service provides short breaks for up to five people living with learning disabilities, physical disabilities, sensory impairments, and autistic people. The service accommodates around ten people annually who receive respite care. At the time of inspection, four people were using the service.

Staff supported people in the least restrictive way possible and in their best interests, with policies and systems in place to sustain this practice. The service maintained appropriate staffing levels with skilled and experienced staff who worked flexibly around people's needs, choices, and interests. Managers and staff were committed to person-centred care that promoted privacy, dignity, and human rights.

Staff knew how to protect people from poor care and abuse and supported people to take positive risks as part of everyday living. People were valued and respected throughout their stay, with staff empowering them to make choices and maintain independence.
