Could the NHS fund Longford's fees?
NHS Continuing Healthcare could cover 100% of care costs with no means test.
Longford is a residential care home providing personal care to up to six younger and older adults living with learning disabilities and/or autism, some of whom also have physical disabilities. The service operates as a domestic house in a residential area, deliberately designed to blend in with surrounding homes rather than appearing institutional. There are no identifying signs, cameras, or uniforms that signal it is a care home, allowing people to live with greater autonomy and dignity within their community.
Staff provide person-centred support that prioritises choice, control, and independence for each individual. People are supported using the least restrictive approaches possible, with policies and systems throughout the service designed to enable meaningful lives and the best possible outcomes for those using the service.
