Leahyrst Care Home

Leahyrst Care Home provides personal care for up to 40 people, including some living with dementia, across three units. The CQC rated the service Requires Improvement, finding breaches relating to governance and risk management. Care records were not always accurate or up to date, some medicines storage needed improvement, and infection control and refurbishment issues were identified, though no harm to people was found.

Inspectors found people were protected from abuse, supported by enough suitably trained staff, and cared for kindly. Feedback from people and relatives was largely positive, describing staff as caring and attentive. However, leadership and quality monitoring systems were not robust enough to catch the problems found, and improvements are still needed.
