Larwood House

Larwood House provides personal care and accommodation for up to nine people with mental health conditions and learning disabilities. The service implemented robust infection control measures during our inspection, including visitor checks upon arrival and clear communication with relatives about current guidance. Staff had designated areas throughout the home to safely don, doff and dispose of personal protective equipment, and were observed following current PPE guidance. The registered manager implemented COVID-19 testing protocols to identify positive cases quickly and protect residents and the wider community.

The home ensured people living there understood the pandemic through guidance produced in pictorial and easy-read formats, demonstrating commitment to accessible communication. Staff supported residents in comprehending the ongoing situation with tailored information appropriate to their individual needs.
