About Larchfield House

Larchfield House is a nursing home in Windsor and Maidenhead, providing personal care and nursing across several units to older people, including those living with dementia. Details of the most recent CQC findings are set out below.

Larchfield House is a purpose-built care home offering personal care and nursing to up to 96 older people, including those living with dementia, across six separate units. The CQC carried out a responsive assessment following concerns about possible institutional abuse and staff recruitment, but found no evidence to support these. The home was rated Good overall.

Inspectors found some minor shortfalls, including a lack of confidence among staff in one unit supporting a person showing agitation, and care plans for diabetes and mental health that sometimes lacked detail. Medicines were managed safely, staffing was adequate, and infection control and recruitment practices were sound. People and relatives spoke positively about kind, attentive staff and a clean, well-maintained environment.
