Kingsway View Care Home

Kingsway View Care Home provides personal care for up to 80 older people, including those living with dementia and physical disabilities. The purpose-built home spans three floors with communal areas, balconies, and en-suite bedrooms. At inspection, 24 people were using the service.

Inspectors identified concerns across several areas. People had not always been protected from abuse, with safeguarding incidents not thoroughly investigated and protective measures delayed. Medicines management had recording issues, though the provider took immediate action. Complaints had not been handled according to policy, with relatives reporting unresolved concerns and lack of updates. The registered manager had not followed established safeguarding and complaints procedures. While audits were regularly completed, they had not identified these shortfalls.

Positive aspects included safe staff recruitment, daily risk assessments with appropriate mitigations in place, and infection prevention measures being followed. Care plans reflected people's individual choices and preferences.
