Kings Court

Kings Court provides residential care and accommodation for 38 people with various health conditions, including dementia and sensory impairment. Inspectors found that people had not always received personalised care specific to their needs and preferences. Risk assessments and care plans did not consistently provide staff with accurate, up-to-date guidance to keep people safe, and there were concerns about the monitoring of accidents and incidents, access to healthcare, and staff supervision. Communication between staff and managers was identified as an issue, resulting in changing care needs not being recognised and acted upon promptly.

A new management team commenced in December 2021 and has been proactive in recognising these issues and working to drive improvement. However, systems and processes put in place to improve the service have not yet been fully embedded. The service demonstrated that people were supported to have choice and control of their lives, with staff supporting them in the least restrictive way possible and in their best interests, with policies and systems in place to support this practice.
