Kilfillan House Care Home

Kilfillan House provides nursing and personal care for up to 30 people. During inspection, the service demonstrated several strengths in its response to infection control and resident wellbeing. Visitors were welcomed by appointment only in a designated area with social distancing measures, including a Perspex screen, alongside guidance and personal protective equipment. Staff were available to supervise and support all visits to ensure safety.

The service had taken proactive steps to address loneliness and isolation among residents. Telephone lines were activated in bedrooms with fees waived, additional mobile phones were provided, and staff supported residents making telephone and video calls with family and friends. The registered manager had successfully implemented robust policies and procedures across the service. Health and safety risks to both residents and staff were thoroughly assessed, with additional support provided to staff including wellbeing services, access to employee benefits, and financial assistance.
