Romans Care Home in Southwick, West Sussex provides residential care for up to 30 people with varying needs, including frailty and dementia. At inspection, 13 people were living at the home. Following a Covid-19 outbreak in early 2021, the home had implemented effective infection prevention systems. New admissions were assessed for Covid risks, with residents isolating in their rooms for 14 days. Once the outbreak cleared, the home reopened to visitors from March 2021 with safety measures in place, including visitor checks at entry and lateral flow device testing. A clear plastic pod in the garden allowed residents to meet relatives safely while maintaining social distance.
