Kellan Lodge

Kellan Lodge provides accommodation and personal care for up to four people with learning and physical disabilities. At inspection, three residents were living at the service. Staff demonstrated caring and respectful interactions with residents, who knew them well and engaged confidently with them.

However, inspectors identified significant concerns in several areas. Risk assessments were not comprehensive and guidance to staff on minimising risks lacked clarity and detail, though these issues were addressed immediately after the inspection. The home had not implemented infection control policies or procedures, and several staff had not received recent infection control training, which was concerning given the pandemic context. Safe recruitment processes were in place for staff.
