Karenza Care Home

Karenza Care Home is a residential care home providing personal care to up to 22 people, supporting older people and those living with dementia. At inspection, 20 people were using the service. Staffing levels were inadequate to meet people's needs, even with agency staff covering shifts. Nearly half of the residents required two staff members for all care and support, yet only two care staff were planned to work alongside one nurse on night duty. People reported they were not always able to have a wash every day with staff support, and staff confirmed that care needs were not always met in a timely manner. The home was actively recruiting to fill vacant posts and had appropriate processes in place to ensure safe recruitment.
