Ings Grove House

Ings Grove House provides intermediate care for up to 40 people, supporting hospital discharge through rehabilitation to help people regain independence. At inspection, 24 people were using the service. Inspectors found that quality assurance systems were in place but had not effectively identified issues discovered during the visit. Care records were not always complete and accurate, a concern already flagged by the registered manager. Medication management presented significant risks, with problems identified in how 'as and when' required medicines and thickeners were handled. Several medication errors had occurred, and although none had harmed people, there was concern that lessons were not being learned to prevent future mistakes. Staff and residents gave mixed feedback about staffing levels, and inspectors found that call bells were sometimes not responded to within the home's own expected timeframe.
