Hylands House Care Home

Hylands House is a care home providing personal care and accommodation for up to 21 adults living with dementia and/or physical disabilities and sensory loss. Inspectors found a calm, well-run home with an experienced, consistent staff team who knew people well and treated them with kindness and respect. People felt safe, well cared for and were involved in decisions about their daily lives.

Some improvements were needed around window restrictors, medicines management, record storage and governance, and inspectors raised these with the registered manager, who took responsive action. Areas for further development included social stimulation for people in their rooms and providing information in accessible formats. Relatives spoke highly of communication and trusted the management team.
