Housteads accommodates up to 40 older people, including those living with dementia. At the time of inspection, 32 residents lived at the service, which is situated in Richmond, Sheffield, with ground floor accommodation comprising single bedrooms and communal spaces. The home has a secure enclosed garden and car park.

Staff appropriately supported residents' needs and were consistently visible throughout the inspection. Medicines were managed well, ensuring people received prescribed medication correctly. Recruitment procedures were robust, and staff understood how to identify and report potential abuse. Residents reported feeling very safe, with risks to health and safety managed effectively. Regular staff meetings were held every three months to support team communication and development.
