Hillswood Lodge

Hillswood Lodge provides accommodation and personal care for up to 21 people, with 15 residents at the time of inspection. The home has implemented a clear visiting policy shared with relatives, detailing booking procedures and sanitising practices. Staff supported relatives to spend time with people at the end of their life while ensuring safety through appropriate use of Personal Protective Equipment.

The home actively worked to reduce social isolation and support mental wellbeing. Staff facilitated technology use including video calls and private social media platforms to help residents maintain contact with loved ones. Additional activities were provided to promote wellbeing, and the environment was adapted with enhanced cleaning and social distancing measures to reduce cross-infection risks.

The registered manager provided support to staff during periods of anxiety, including signposting them to wellbeing services. These measures demonstrated a commitment to maintaining quality care and staff welfare during challenging circumstances.
