Highfield House

Highfield House provides residential care and accommodation for up to seven adults with learning or physical disabilities in an adapted building with an enclosed garden. Four people were living there at the time of inspection. The service is designed to support residents in living meaningful lives with control, choice, and independence. The building is larger than typical domestic properties but is designed to blend into the residential area, with no identifying signs indicating it is a care home. Staff do not wear uniforms or identifying clothing when supporting people, further maintaining the home's domestic character.

The service had reviewed activity restrictions in response to COVID-19 and introduced additional internal activities to prevent isolation among residents. The home's design and management approach aim to ensure people can achieve the best possible outcomes and live as full a life as possible despite the challenges presented by the pandemic.
