Heaton House Care Home

Heaton House accommodates up to 21 older people requiring nursing and personal care, some of whom have dementia. At inspection, 18 people were using the service.

Inspectors identified concerns with medicine management, finding that record keeping and systems for storing and administering medicines were inconsistent and not always safe. The home had recently experienced staffing losses and undertaken rolling recruitment, though some gaps were identified in staff references and DBS certificates—issues the provider addressed immediately during the inspection. Safety risks relating to the environment required attention.
