Could the NHS fund Heathlands Care Home's fees?
NHS Continuing Healthcare could cover 100% of care costs with no means test.
This care home provides personal and nursing care for up to 84 older people, including those living with dementia. At the time of inspection, 72 people were using the service, accommodated across three floors of a single adapted building. People were safeguarded from harm and abuse, with risk assessments in place to reduce identified risks. Staff recruitment was safe and staffing levels were adequate to meet people's needs. The provider had systems to learn from accidents, incidents and complaints, and building safety checks were carried out as required. Infection control measures protected people from the spread of infection.
Staff received regular training, supervision and appraisals to support their development. People were supported to have maximum choice and control over their lives, with staff working in the least restrictive way possible and in their best interests. Care needs were assessed prior to admission to ensure appropriate support could be provided.
