Forest Place is a nursing home in a purpose-built building over three floors, providing care and nursing support for up to 120 people, including some living with dementia. At the time of the CQC assessment, 55 people lived there. The home has moved out of an inadequate rating to Requires Improvement overall, though it remains in special measures while further improvements are made.

Inspectors found some progress since the last inspection, but continued breaches around staffing levels, risk management, consent and governance. People said they felt safe but that care was sometimes rushed or delayed, with staff changes affecting consistency. Families gave mixed feedback, praising some staff while noting communication problems and inconsistent attention to personal care needs.

Forest Place is a nursing home that can accommodate up to 120 people, some of whom live with dementia. At the time of the assessment visit there were 55 people living at the service. The building was purpose built and accommodated people over 3 floors.
This assessment took place on the 27 April 2026 to 6 of May 2026. We visited the service on 27 April 2026. This assessment was prompted by a review of the information we held about this service. We undertook a responsive assessment to review the key questions of safe and well-Led. The inspection team consisted of 3 adult social care inspectors, 1 medicines inspector, 1 specialist advisory nurse and 1 Expert by Experience.
At the last assessment, the service was rated inadequate in safe and well-led, with breaches of legislation identified. Effective, caring and responsive were rated as requires improvement. The overall rating published August 2025 was inadequate.
At this assessment we found some improvements had been made since the previous assessment. However, improvements were still needed in relation to staffing, risk management, consent, and governance. We found continued breaches of legal regulations in safe care and treatment, consent, governance and safe and sufficient staffing, you can read more detail about this further in the report.
In instances where CQC has begun a process of regulatory action, we may publish this information on our website after any representations and/or appeals have been concluded, if the action has been taken forward. We have asked the provider for an action plan in response to the concerns found at this assessment in relation to consent to care.
This service remains in special measures. The purpose of special measures is to ensure that services providing inadequate care make significant improvements. Special measures provide a framework within which we use our enforcement powers in response to inadequate care and provide a timeframe within which providers must improve the quality of the care they provide.
At this assessment the overall rating for the service has changed from inadequate to requires improvement based on the findings of this assessment.
