Hazelwood Care Home

Hazelwood Care Home provides nursing care for older people and those living with dementia, supporting 44 people at the time of assessment. The CQC found the service was performing well overall and rated it Good. Safeguarding processes were effective, medicines were well managed, and staff were recruited and trained appropriately.

Inspectors did find some pressure relieving mattresses were not set correctly for people's weights, and some emergency evacuation plans were out of date. Both issues were addressed promptly once raised. Feedback from people and relatives was largely positive, praising the staff, food and atmosphere, though views on staffing levels were mixed.
