Handford House Care Home

Handford House Care Home in Ipswich provides residential care for up to 52 adults living with dementia, nursing needs and physical disabilities. The home had been rated inadequate and placed in special measures, but the CQC found significant improvements had been made, and it is now rated Good overall, no longer in special measures.

Inspectors found staff were kind and respectful, medicines were managed safely, and people were involved in decisions about their care. Some concerns remained: gaps in blood sugar monitoring, mixed staff morale, occasional staffing shortfalls, and a few reports of missing clothing or slow call-bell responses, with further improvements still being embedded.
