Hamilton House accommodates 60 older people, including those living with dementia, across three floors with lift access and en-suite bedrooms. At the time of inspection, 44 residents were staying at the home. Staff effectively managed a recent COVID-19 outbreak by following individual risk assessments and care plans, ensuring those who tested positive or showed symptoms isolated according to government guidance. The provider maintained regular communication with families about visiting restrictions and safety measures. While implementing a no-visiting policy with exceptions for end-of-life care, the home proactively built a visiting pod with screening to allow safe, comfortable visits when reopening became possible. The provider kept their visiting policy under regular review to balance resident safety with maintaining connections. The environment was maintained to a very clean standard throughout the home.
