Hafod Nursing Home

Hafod Nursing Home provides nursing and personal care for up to 29 adults, including many people living with dementia or complex mental health needs. The CQC found the service required improvement, following up on earlier enforcement action. Some progress had been made on staffing, medicines and the environment, but inspectors found continuing breaches relating to safe care, premises and equipment, and governance, with maintenance issues and management systems not yet proven to work.

Most people and relatives told inspectors they felt safe and spoke positively about staff, and some felt improvements were noticeable. However, some relatives said communication with staff and management could be better, and several felt they were not always involved in reviewing care plans. The provider must now show how it will meet legal requirements fully.
