Grangewood Lodge Residential Home

Grangewood Lodge Residential Home, in Derbyshire, provides personal care and accommodation for up to 37 people, including older people living with dementia, sensory impairment or physical disability. The CQC carried out this assessment after concerns were raised about infection prevention and control, but found no evidence of ongoing risk to people. A minor issue with inconsistent PPE use during mealtimes was resolved immediately by the management team.

Inspectors found a well-run home with effective systems to monitor quality and safety, and an open, approachable management team. Care plans reflected people's needs, staff understood how to support changing needs, and feedback from families and professionals was consistently positive about the kindness and compassion shown. The home retains its overall Good rating.
