Grange-Lea Residential Care Home

Grange-Lea provides residential care and personal care for up to 32 people, with 30 residents at the time of inspection, some living with dementia. The service demonstrated strong infection control practices, with four dedicated infection control champions overseeing high standards throughout the home. Staff worked to protect vulnerable residents through creative support measures, including dedicated support bubbles for people at extreme risk or isolating, which allowed their needs to be met while minimising infection transmission.

The service maintained robust systems for visitors, utilising outdoor garden space and scheduling visits at times that suited residents while spacing them out to prevent transmission. All visitors underwent screening, hand decontamination, and wore facemasks. Grange-Lea kept residents and relatives informed about enhanced infection control processes through regular newsletters and discussions, ensuring everyone understood how the home was working to keep people safe.
