Glen Tanar Rest Home is a residential care home in Bispham providing accommodation for up to 21 people in single bedrooms. At the time of inspection, the home was at full capacity with 21 residents. The registered manager had established effective infection prevention and control procedures that were understood and followed consistently by staff. A screening process for visitors included health and temperature checks, provision of personal protective equipment, and lateral flow device testing. Admissions were managed safely in line with guidance, with new residents admitted only after negative COVID-19 test results and supported to self-isolate for up to 14 days. People's health and wellbeing were carefully monitored throughout this period. The home maintained plentiful PPE supplies with regular stock monitoring, and staff received training in infection control practices with reinforcing posters displayed throughout the building.
