Garsewednack Residential Home

Garsewednack Residential Home provides accommodation and personal care for up to 21 older people living with dementia. At the time of inspection, 15 people were using the service. The CQC rated it Requires Improvement overall, an improvement on its previous inadequate rating, though it is no longer in Special Measures.

Inspectors found continued breaches around safe care, premises and governance, with risks such as falls and moving and handling not always properly managed, and gaps in medicines administration and record keeping. Audits had not identified these shortfalls. However, staff were found to be kind and caring, morale had improved, and the environment was cleaner than before.
