Galanos House

Galanos House is a residential care home in Colwyn Bay providing personal and nursing care for up to 101 people, including those living with dementia in its Poppy Lodge unit. The CQC rated the home outstanding overall, praising its strong, motivated management team, robust governance and genuinely positive culture. Staff were well trained, and care plans were detailed and tailored to individual needs and preferences.

Inspectors found people led full, active lives, supported to pursue interests, take positive risks and stay involved in their local community. Relatives described staff as exceptionally kind and reassuring, and people were empowered to shape decisions about the home, including staff recruitment. People were also supported to remain at Galanos House for end of life care when this was their wish.
