Friars Mead

Friars Mead provides residential care for up to 27 people aged 65 and over, with 18 residents at the time of inspection. People and relatives reported being happy with the service and felt safe and well cared for by staff. The home had introduced additional governance systems to improve the quality of care and support, which had enhanced people's experiences.

Staff demonstrated knowledge of safeguarding procedures and how to identify and report potential abuse. Individual risks were assessed with appropriate measures in place to keep residents safe. Medicines were stored securely and administered regularly with proper records maintained. The home had implemented staff training in infection control procedures to reduce infection risks. Staff received induction, training and supervision, with most feeling well supported in their roles.
