Freestones Residential Care Home

Freestones Residential Care Home provides care for up to 20 older people, including those living with dementia, and had 17 residents at the time of assessment. The CQC found the service requires improvement, identifying breaches relating to safe care, consent, and governance. Risk assessments and care plans were not kept up to date, fire and infection control risks had not been identified, and management oversight was not robust enough to keep people safe.

Inspectors found staff were kind, respectful and knew people well, with residents and relatives describing them as caring and trustworthy. Staffing levels and recruitment were adequate, and safeguarding procedures were understood, though some staff training had lapsed without plans to address it.
