Foundation House

Foundation House is a care home providing personal and nursing care to 12 people with acquired brain injuries, physical disabilities, learning disabilities and mental health needs. The service also supports one person living in a self-contained flat on-site with personal care support. Staff demonstrated a clear vision of promoting equality and empowering people to live as active citizens in control of their lives. A highly positive person-centred culture was evident throughout the service, with staff setting high standards and challenging disability perceptions. This approach has improved confidence and expanded opportunities for the people they support.

People using the service and their carers spoke overwhelmingly positively about the support, guidance and healthcare they had received. They praised staff for their kindness and compassion. Throughout the inspection, both people and staff were found to be motivated and passionate about equality and providing meaningful, person-centred support that promotes choice, control and independence.
