Florence House

Florence House is a residential care home providing support to older people and younger adults, many living with mental health issues or a learning disability. The CQC rated the service inadequate overall and has taken enforcement action, placing it into special measures. Inspectors found insufficient trained staff, poor management of medication and risk, weak handling of complaints and incidents, and a failure to gain proper consent to care.

People and relatives gave mixed feedback: some staff were described as kind and knowledgeable, and everyone said they felt safe. However, care was not person-centred, independence and choice were not promoted, and concerns raised at meetings often went unresolved. Frequent changes of manager had also affected the overall leadership and direction of the home.
