Fairways

Fairways provides care for up to 24 people, including those living with dementia, with 13 people living there at the time of assessment. The CQC found ongoing shortfalls in safety and management: some risks were not properly assessed, choking guidance was missing for people on modified diets, and pressure-relieving equipment was not checked correctly. Not all safeguarding concerns had been reported appropriately, and governance remained inconsistent.

Medicines management and recruitment had improved, and the home is no longer in special measures. Families spoke warmly of the caring, attentive staff and lively atmosphere, praising the food and activities on offer. Despite this, inspectors found the provider remained in breach of regulations and rated the home Requires Improvement overall.
