Exmouth House

Exmouth House provides accommodation and personal care support for up to 31 people, with 28 residents at the time of inspection. The service maintains strong connections between residents and their families through various initiatives, including an online secure relatives' gateway for sharing messages and photographs from anywhere in the world. Staff print chosen photos for display throughout the home, and portal devices are available for residents to access the internet. One resident particularly enjoys watching online fish tank images through these devices.

The staff team creates a strong sense of community, with residents praising them for their dedication and support, especially during periods of isolation when residents felt they were never alone. The service has recently implemented a penpal scheme for residents to enjoy. Staff are actively involved in activities with residents, and the management ensured a smooth transition when the registered manager left by overseeing a thorough handover with the new manager. The team has worked hard to support people in maintaining positive wellbeing and staying connected with loved ones, including helping residents participate in family celebrations and share updates about their lives.
