Southgarth Care Home

This converted Victorian care home in Exmouth provides personal care for up to 25 older people, including those living with mild dementia. The home has 21 bedrooms, some with ensuite facilities, and was operating at full capacity with 20 residents at inspection.

Staff received safeguarding training and understood their responsibility to keep people safe, with clear processes in place to report any concerns to the local authority. Risk management systems were robust and ensured people's health and welfare were protected. Staffing levels on each shift were calculated based on individual residents' care and support needs, and pre-recruitment checks ensured new staff were recruited safely.
